Organisations depend on high-speed broadband Internet connections for maximum employee productivity, and for exchanging confidential customer information and sensitive business data. In many instances this requires an Internet connection in areas where wired networks—DSL, leased line, ISDN and others—are unavailable or require time consuming installation and provisioning. Part of SonicWALL's Unified Threat Management-based TZ Series, the SonicWALL® TZ 190 features a deep packet inspection architecture enabling organisations to establish secure 3G wireless broadband network access instantly in virtually any location without the need for a fixed Internet connection. By leveraging recent advances in 3G wireless broadband technologies, organisations can rapidly establish high-speed access for seasonal kiosks, mobile point-of-sale stations, portable ATM machines, disaster recovery networks and more. In addition, it is simple to allow wireless LAN users to connect to the TZ 190 network by adding SonicPoints, SonicWALL external 802.11 wireless access points. A high-performance, multi-layered network security solution, the TZ 190 integrates Type II PC Card* based 3G wireless broadband support, automated failover/failback technologies and a deep packet inspection firewall into a single platform. Underlying the TZ 190 is SonicOS Enhanced, SonicWALL's powerful operating system. SonicOS Enhanced unlocks a series of powerful networking and business continuity security features in the TZ 190 including ISP failover, policy-based NAT, object-based management nd DDNS. By integrating real-time gateway anti-virus, anti-spyware, intrusion prevention and anti-spam capabilities, the TZ 190 provides complete protection against malicious threats, both internal and external, for a deeper level of network security.

Features & Benefits
|
 |
- Real-Time Gateway Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware and Intrusion Prevention. The TZ 170 Series extends security from the network core to the perimeter by integrating support for SonicWALL's Gateway Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware and Intrusion Prevention Service, delivering real-time protection against the latest blended threats, including viruses, spyware, worms, Trojans, software vulnerabilities and other malicious code.1
- Powerful Content Filtering. The TZ 170 Series supports SonicWALL's Content Filtering Service, providing an enterprise-class, scalable content filtering service that enhances productivity and security without requiring additional server or deployment costs.
- Deep Packet Inspection Firewall. The TZ 170 Series features a configurable, high performance deep packet inspection firewall for extended protection to key Internet services such as Web, e-mail, file transfer, Windows services, and DNS.
- WorkPort. The SonicWALL TZ 170 includes an optional port that can be configured as a WorkPort, creating an independent, isolated zone of trusted network security that protects corporate networks from malicious attacks that can occur when telecommuters share broadband Internet access with networked home computers.
- Integrated Firewall, VPN and Wireless Access Point. The TZ 170 Wireless and TZ 170 SP Wireless appliances integrate deep packet inspection firewall, IPSec VPN and 802.11b/g wireless access technologies in one easy-to-use solution, reducing the time and cost burdens associated with supporting multiple solutions.
- Wireless Intrusion Detection Services. The TZ 170 Wireless and TZ 170 SP Wireless appliances protect wireless networks by detecting and preventing three widespread threats: rogue access points, disassociation attacks and association flood attacks.
- Wireless Guest Services. The TZ 170 Wireless and TZ 170 SP Wireless appliances allow network administrators to create user accounts for occasional guest users such as consultants and contractors that permit wireless connections to the Internet without providing access to the corporate network.
- Failover and Failback Technologies. The TZ 170 SP and TZ 170 SP Wireless ensure continuous uptime for IPSec VPN tunnels by failing over to an analog WAN connection in the event that the broadband connection fails. Once the broadband is re-established, the TZ 170 SP fails back, providing the best connection speed possible.
- Comprehensive Central Management Support. Every SonicWALL Internet security appliance can be managed using SonicWALL's award-winning Global Management System, which provides network administrators with the tools for simplified configuration, enforcement and management of global security policies, VPN, and services, all from a central location.
