Course Description Proxy Fundamentals course is a two day instructor-led course for beginners. The course provides networking professionals with a working knowledge of how to deploy, install, configure and mange Blue Coat Proxy appliances for authentication, policy development with the Visual Policy Manager (VPM), on-proxy content filtering, custom logging, virus scanning of Web content using ICAP or proxy AV and reporting using the reporter. This is a practical course with lots of hands-on labs for practical experience on how to install and configure ProxySG appliances, develop granular policies with the Visual Policy Manager (VPM), and utilize logging and the Reporter product. Who Should Attend The course is intended for networking professionals new to Blue Coat appliances, Security auditors and architects, Systems engineers and Post-sale support technicians. Pre-requisites A working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, DNS, network environments with firewalls. Working knowledge of routing, bridging, & switching, Good understanding of web servers and services using http, https, & ftp are prerequisites. Familiarity with the network environment where the Blue Coat Proxy Appliance will be deployed.
