How it works

The URL Filter is an optional plug-in to the MIMEsweeper for Web solution that blocks web access to websites blacklisted by your security policy.

When a page is requested, MIMEsweeper identifies the user and their web access privileges. The requested URL is then checked against the blacklist appropriate to that user. If the site is blacklisted, the transfer is blocked. If you prefer, the user is notified and an administrator alerted.

All activity, blocked and allowed, is recorded for in-depth reporting to analyse web usage and traffic patterns.
