A security audit should be performed prior to any security policy development as this provides the background information on current infrastructure and any existing security practices. A security audit should also be repeated on a regular basis to check that the security policy is being followed and that it remains successful in maintaining corporate security.
The audit itself involves a Presence technician coming on site and carrying out an analysis of the following areas;
- Physical security - Where network infrastructure is located and how it is maintained
- Network security - Passwords and access levels
- Data security - Analysis of the types of data held and how and where they are stored
- Policy management - What policies and procedures are in place to manage security, this includes areas of responsibility and contingency planning.
Following the audit, we will provide you with a full report outlining the areas covered and the results found. We will uncover any problem areas and advise you on the steps you should take to rectify any issues arising. |
